Integrated Services
Who:
AFMIN the network of national African MFIs associations who is interested in promoting integrated services using microfinance as a platform. AFMIN has 22 members association (12 Francophone and 10 Anglophone). AFMIN is represented by M. Davy Serge AZAKPAME, Executive Director.
Individual MFIs members of national Microfinance practitioners networks in Africa (either Anglophone either Francophone)
Freedom from Hunger an International Non-Profit organization based in Davis (California) and specialized in technical assistance provision in the area of integrated services (Value-added microfinance) implementation. Freedom from Hunger is represented by M. Christian Loupéda, Director Credit with Education, Africa and Asia.
Why:
Due to the demonstrated impact of integrated services (value-added microfinance) on the lives of the very poor and the growing interest of African MFIs in adopting and implementing it, AFMIN as a regional network of all the national microfinance practitioners associations has decided to take the opportunity to involve its members (national MFIs practitioners networks) in the discussion of the best practices of integrated services implementation in order to improve their impact in the field. This event will take place in collaboration with Freedom from Hunger who will share its experience in the area of integrated services implementation gathered around the world.
The goal of the conference is to promote integrated services as a proven strategy to reach out to the very poor and have greater impacts on their lives.
When and Where
Due to the difference language, the conference will take place in two times, the Anglophone session will take place from July 28th through 30th and the francophone session from August 4th through 6th. The conference will take place through a virtual event (via internet) using an on line conferencing software to gather interested networks and MFIs from their respective countries of operations throughout Africa. Each session will include a formal presentation followed by two days of ongoing discussions on select relevant topics. The presentation will be done from the Freedom from Hunger’s headquarters office in Davis-California at 3:00 pm GMT on the first day of each session. The participants will attend the conference from their countries of residence using their computers connected to internet.
