    AFMIN's Program to build shared performance Standards



    From July 19 to 22, 2004, the Africa Microfinance Network (AFMIN) organized a workshop to advance its initiative to develop shared performance indicators and standards for its members. The workshop was held at Nile Hotel in Kampala, Uganda and was attended by members of AFMIN, its board, and its secretariat staff.

    Improving Microfinance Client Protection in Africa



    In the line with its mandate of "Building people and systems that work for the poor in Africa", the Africa Microfinance Network, (AFMIN) in partnership with SEEP Network, Micro Enterprise Alliance (MEA), the Ford Foundation, and the Microfinance Regulatory Council, (MFRC) organized a three-day workshop on "Improving Microfinance Client Protection in Africa." The workshop was held on 9 - 11 March 2005, at Birchwood Executive Hotel, Johannesburg, South Africa.

    HIV-AIDS and Microinsurance in the Microfinance Sector in Africa



    AFMIN and Hivos organised the workshop on the theme: “HIV/AIDS and Microinsurance in the microfinance sector in Africa”. During three days, microfinance and microinsurance experts shared experiences on strategies developed to reduce the effects of HIV/AIDS on their clients.

    Governance, Fundraising and Strategic Planning for CLNs



    The Africa Microfinance Network (AFMIN) organized a training workshop on governance, fundraising and strategic planning for microfinance networks, which was held from September 20 -23, 2004, at the United Nations Conference Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The training was organized in collaboration with the SEEP network and attended by members of AFMIN, its Board and the secretariat staff.
