DESCRIPTION :
The Tanzania Association of Microfinance Institutions (TAMFI) is the umbrella organization for microfinance organizations working in Tanzania.
TAMFI works to strengthen Tanzania’s microfinance sector by promoting cooperation and
collaboration among its member organizations, providing training, conducting research, and lobbying the government of Tanzania.
The main objectives of TAMFI are:
- To enhance and strengthen microfinance institutions in Tanzania while acting as a forum to address mutual interests
- To act as a networking, lobbying, and advocacybody for the microfinance sector.
- To act as a unifying organ between its members.
- To advocate the Government of Tanzania to create and maintain an appropriate regulatory framework for microfinance institutions in Tanzania
- To carry out research relevant for MFI development in Tanzania and provide viable suggestions
VISION AND MISSION :
TAMFI’s vision is to become a vibrant network that effectively supports the microfinance industry in Tanzania.
TAMFI’s mission is to facilitate the creation of an enabling environment for development of a sustainable through the participation of all stakeholders.
