    Job Description :

    MicroVentures is an international network of companies investing in MFIs operating in selected emerging countries of Asia and Latin America. In India, the network operates through the Bangalore-based NBFC MV Microfin Pvt Ltd (MicroVentures India) which provides debt to Indian MFIs, along with advisory services and ground support to other MicroVentures Network affiliates for concluding equity investments in the country.

    About the Job:

    In order to support its fast expansion, MicroVentures India is currently looking for an Associate Investment Manager with a minimum of 2 years experience.

    Tasks and Responsibilities:


    * Regularly scout the microfinance market to build a relevant pipeline of debt and equity opportunities;
    * Screen and appraise new investment opportunities for both debt and equity investments;
    * Work as part of a small team to review and develop investment decisions, including performing detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis and preparing written investment recommendations;
    * Assist the senior team in developing financial and valuation model for potential equity investments;
    * Monitor investments during their entire holding period and report to team members and stakeholders about client’s developments;
    * Assist team in negotiating deals with the potential clients;
    * Assist senior team in preparing legal documents;
    * Manage the MFI contacts database and develop tools to facilitate investment and reporting activities;
    * Build and maintain strong and productive relationships with clients, co-investors and partners.

    Qualifications:

    * Private equity/corporate finance/credit ratings experience;
    * Strong financial and analytical skills;
    * Person with some accounts and finance background would be preferred;
    * Superior writing and communication skills;
    * Emerging markets/microfinance experience would be a plus;
    * Genuine interest in “Base of Pyramid” investments;
    * Entrepreneurial, team player, flexible;
    * Displays superior accountability, commitment, initiative, problem solving capabilities, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task;
    * Willingness to travel for work assignments;
    * Strong computer skills;
    * Fluent in English and Hindi.
